CHICO ZAPOTE
Chico Zapote is one of the most exotic
fruits produced in Mexico. It shares a close relationship with the ancient Mayan culture, which mysteriously disappeared from
the face of the earth more than 1000 years ago. We first became aware of the existence of this exotic and mostly unknown fruit
in the late 70’s. Before the end of the decade we started plating Chico Zapote in the Yucatan Peninsula and by 1980 we had
more than 300 hectares, which became the largest plantation of this fruit in the world. Ten years latter we started promoting
Chico Zapote in Latin America, Canada, England, and Japan. Over the years we have earned the reputation for having the best
quality fruit in the market. Our optimum production time is from early November to end of April with a volume capacity up
to 200 tons per year.
